OLDIES.com Description

As the "King Of Endless Boogie," John Lee Hooker has left his indelible mark on Blues for over fifty years. Hooker is one of the last living links to the pre-war Blues tradition. This Mississippi-born singer-guitarist ventured to Detroit in 1943 and honed his craft by playing in countless Blues clubs and recording on many records labels before finding a home at Vee-Jay in 1955. Hooker received three Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, and was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
