This UK black metal band, a major influence on thrash pioneers Metallica, Slayer and Possessed, as well as the satanic fraternity, was formed in 1978 as Guillotine in Newcastle Upon Tyne by Cronos (Conrad Lant; bass, vocals), Mantas (b.
