DOM HEMINGWAY is often ghoulishly funny, with Law, who put on weight for the role and plays up his receding hairline, turning in a larger-than-life performance unlike any he’s given before. -- Grade: B

Rating: 3/4 -- Dom Hemingway is often viciously funny, and every time you think the movie has run out of steam, Shepard spins things in a new direction, keeping the energy from flagging (including one of the most startling car crashes I've ever seen in a film).

Rating: 1.5/4 -- An angry and noisy romp that left this reviewer feeling cold. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/5 -- While it features perhaps one of the best performances of Jude Law's career, its raunchy energy fizzles out by the mid-point as it switches gears from uneasy gangster flick to family dramedy. Full Review

It's almost Deadwood-level macho brilliance, lyrical and delivered with a generous helping of spit. Full Review

Rating: B -- You don't so much care where Dom is going as how he's getting there, and he's getting there loud. Full Review

I figured that at some point Dom Hemingway-like Dom Hemingway-would have to choose what it wants to be. Full Review

Product Description:

Safecracking ex-con Dom Hemingway (Jude Law) recruits his old criminal cohort Dickie (Richard E. Grant) to help collect his payment for maintaining his silence during a 12-year prison stint, an act of loyalty that sheltered Hemingway's boss Mr. Fontaine (Demián Bichir) from the prying eyes of police detectives. Later, on the heels of a close brush with death, Hemingway seeks a reunion with his estranged daughter while being drawn back into the criminal fray.
