Col. Briteis (Donna Martell) and Maj. Moore (Ross Ford) are selected to orbit the moon to survey a landing area for a future expedition, but the mission doctor (actually a Russian spy) sabotages the rocket's guidance system and forces it to land on the lunar surface, stranded and out of fuel. How will the crew survive? (Wade Williams)

Product Description:

America's first woman astronaut, her male co-pilot, and an evil infiltrator sent by the "Enemies of Freedom" take the flight of their lives when a routine survey orbit becomes a ride to disaster on the moon's surface.

Description by Image Entertainment:

Robert Heinlein's vision of space travel and the future of man are depicted in his second cinematic space travel adventure, his first being "Destination Moon" three years earlier. Colonel Breiteis, a female rocket pilot, and Major Moore, her co-pilot, are selected to orbit the Moon to survey a landing area for a future expedition, but a ruthless Russian spy-scientist aboard the ship causes it to land on the lunar surface, stranded and out of fuel. Will they live or die in these dire circumstances' Writer Heinlein gives us thrilling ideas of an orbital space station where people walk on the walls and ceilings, a rocketship that looks much like the real one that landed on the Moon in 1969, the American Space Force, commie spies and a woman President of the United States.

When Dinosaurs Ruled Hollywood Movie Lover: from Trumbull, CT -- September, 22, 2005

You want sexual stereotypes from the 1950's? Well, "they're here"! The character of Col. Brietis (that's "bright eyes", gals) should cause feminists to run screaming into the night (armed with sledgehammers) in search of any living descendents of the writers of this screenplay. The dialog between Donna Martell and Ross Ford (Major Moore)is appalling: all the more so since she is his superior in rank (and acting ability). Talk about sexist! Hoo-hah! Regrettably, the premise of this film is slain on the altar of machismo.
