The film revels in fuzzy, intimate home videos from the period, courtesy of the narrator, Eli Gesner, who spent much of his youth filming the scene on his camcorder.

Rating: 8/10 -- All the Streets Are Silent is a welcome new documentary showing how two cultures are actually very connected and are still impacting our society to this day (and not a fad like many thought they would be). Full Review

A new documentary depicts the late-’80s/early-’90s New York scene through which several eventual pro skateboarders and some soon-to-be giant hip-hop stars passed. It works as a snapshot of a place and time.

Product Description:

In his feature film directorial debut, documentarist Jeremy Elkin tries to capture the essence of the identified golden age of street-emerged subculture aspects: hip hop and skateboarding. Using analog video archival footage shot during the late ‘80s to early ‘90s interspersed with contemporary interviews with key figures of the era, the film creates a portrait of New York's vibrant lower Manhattan where many important brands, personalities, music, and lifestyle aspects contributed to the emerging urban culture that still resonates today. Zoo York brand founder Eli Gesner narrates the film.
