Product Description:
The documentary package BATTLEFIELD VIETNAM: FROM DIEN BIEN PHU TO PEACE WITH HONOR chronicle's America's harrowing immersion in Indochina, from the mid-1950s (when the French colonialists were defeated by their Vietnamese subjects) through the mid-1970s, when the U.S. finally withdrew from Vietnam. The program also enlists a somewhat unusual perspective: in lieu of drawing on Vietnam-era footage shot by American photojournalists, it interpolates footage shot by Chinese, French and Vietnamese cameramen, much of it rarely or never before glimpsed in the U.S., that tell the story of the various conflicts. The package contains six episodes that proceed through history chronologically: "Dien Bien Phu - The Legacy," "The Undeclared War & Search and Destroy," "Showdown in the Iron Triangle & War on the DMZ," "Siege at Khe Sanh," "Air War Vietnam & Rolling Thunder," and "Peace with Honor."
