Description by OLDIES.com:
Paul McCartney guides us through stories and songs of the legendary hit-maker and the tremendous influence that he had on popular music. Rare footage includes Buddy Holly performing "That'll be the Day" and "Oh Boy," McCartney performing Holly's immortal "Words Of Love" and The Rolling Stones performing "Not Fade Away."
Buddy Holly was a man of humble beginnings who was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. In just eighteen months he recorded 9 top ten hits and his sound continues to influence generations of musicians and songwriters. His genius came early, but his voice was forever silenced on February 3rd, 1959, when he was killed in a tragic airplane crash along with Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper - a day in history that has become known as "the day the music died." The death of Buddy Holly has left a void in the rock music world that has never been filled to this day.
