Entertainment Reviews:
We are given a window into the final months of one of Hollywood's greatest stars and one of its greatest victims, as well. Hollywood has always preyed on the weak, children and women, especially. Judy was both.

Standard-issue biopic made more watchable by the passionate and vulnerable performance by Renée Zellweger.

Ozus' World Movie Reviews
3.5 stars out of 5 -- Renée Zellweger performs miracles playing Judy Garland: singing her heart out, baring her bruised soul and acting with a ferocity that ultimately rises to a state of grace.
Rolling Stone
[I]t does surprisingly well at contextualizing Garland’s abusive childhood....It was enough unhappiness to last many lifetimes, but for Garland, it was enough to cut hers short.
RogerEbert.com
3 stars out of 5 -- Tom Edge’s screenplay examines Garland through the prism of a late-in-life UK engagement peppered with flashbacks to key moments in her early years as a child star.
Empire
Rating: B + --
Like Garland's career, "Judy" is blessed with a talented star and starts out with much promise, only to become more uneven and unfulfilling towards its end.

Chatham News + Record (NC)
The movie is a vehicle for Zellweger's performance. It's hard to escape the sense, of course, that her turn here is an award-bait stunt... But it's a disciplined and rigorous stunt.

Product Description:
Renée Zellweger stars as Judy Garland in Judy, the iconic star's newest biopic. The film, set in late 1968 and early 1969, shows Garland hustling in Swinging London after she successfully secured a five-week engagement in Talk of the Town. Behind the scenes, she battles her own management and prepares to fight her ex-husband and ex-manager, Sidney Luft (Rufus Sewell), in court for custody of their children. Despite this period of her life being tumultuous, Garland is able to find love once again -- this time in the arms of Mickey Deans (Finn Wittrock). Directed by Rupert Goold.
