Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 8/10 --
If you feel uncomfortable watching Diary, you could hardly be blamed. Minnie and Munroe's romance isn't easy to digest out of context, but Heller presents it in a way that allows you to free yourself of the scenario's taboo implications.

Way Too Indie
In less-sure hands, this could have been a creepy debacle. But Heller, who first adapted the work for the stage, knows the material inside out, and with the Sundance Institute at her back, she has created an impeccably crafted film.

Memphis Flyer
Rating: A --
It's honest, unapologetic, flawlessly performed, and a complex, unflinching look at female sexuality, which is no different in 2015 than it was in 1976.

Rating: 4/5 --

One Room With A View
Writer/director [Marielle] Heller avoids the pitfalls of thematic darkness and adds a layer of lightness thanks to fantasy animations and dreamlike diary entries that enchant and entertain.

Behind The Lens
A late summer gem. Anchored by star-making work from Bel Powley, it's a bittersweet coming of age story that isn't afraid to explore some rather dark places.

Product Description:
In this poignant adaptation of author Phoebe Gloeckner's acclaimed graphic novel of the same name, Minnie Goetze (Bel Powley), a sexually precocious teenage girl living in 1970s San Francisco tries to grasp the connection between sex and love after she seduces her bohemian mother's boyfriend (Alexander Skarsgård). Her newly awakened sexuality manifests itself in a series of encounters with boys at school which she painstakenly recounts her diary. Kristen Wiig, Christopher Meloni, Austin Lyon and Quinn Nagle co-star. Directed by Marielle Heller
