The film walks the rapier line of satire, sarcasm and commentary, finding that sweet spot perfect balance of emotion and story. Political commentary is succinct and spot on.

Behind The Lens
CRISIS, directed by David Gordon Green, is the rare major studio comedy to have anything serious on its mind, and that's because its plot was inspired by an excellent Rachel Boynton documentary that came out a decade ago.
Los Angeles Times
[T]he cast, led by Sandra Bullock, is energetic, sharp and gets a fair number of juicy bits to rock out with.
RogerEbert.com
3 stars out of 4 -- The livewire in OUR BRAND IS CRISIS is Sandra Bullock who is fiercely funny and touching as 'Calamity Jane' Bodine.
Rolling Stone
4 stars out of 5 -- Sparks fly, but the grim cynicism of modern politics adds subversive weight to the film’s screwball comedy stylings and has a lot to say about modern politics, in the US as well as abroad.
Empire
Rating: 3/5 --
Our Brand is Crisis is ultimately an average politically-charged film, one that had far more potential than what is seen onscreen. Good performances all around don't overcome some of the film's issues, but still make for an interesting watch.

Product Description:
This satirical comedy starring Sandra Bullock as a political consultant gives viewers an inside look at the high-stakes, win-at-all-costs world of politics. Bullock stars as "Calamity" Jane Bodine, who is hired to work on the campaign of a Bolivian presidential candidate who has fallen behind in the polls. She faces off against her rival Pat Candy (Billy Bob Thornton), who is working on the opponent's campaign and is also looking for every opportunity to antagonize Jane. The film is loosely based on the 2005 documentary of the same name by Rachel Boynton. Directed by David Gordon Green (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, GEORGE WASHINGTON). Produced by Oscar-winners George Clooney and Grant Heslov.
