National Geographic - 21 Days to Baghdad

After a long process that divided many in the world in 2003, the United States led a military operation to oust Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and to bring democracy to the Middle East nation. Coalition forces led by the U.S. marched to the capital city Baghdad in three weeks as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Coalition forces took control of Baghdad swiftly paving the way for a period of nation-building and peacemaking that got off to a rocky start with rampant looting and violence.
