Suspension Bills Debate (2-Disc)

The House considered 17 suspension bills dealing with such issues as food allergies and scams targeting senior citizens. Julia Letlow (R-LA), who won a special election in March, was sworn in to replace her late husband, Luke Letlow, who died of complications related to COVID-19 after being elected to represent Louisiana's 5th Congressional District in November 2020 but before being sworn into office. Members observed a moment of silence for the late Representative Alcee Hastings (D-FL), who died the previous week at age 84 from pancreatic cancer.
