Earth, Wind & Fire Super Hits, Volume 2

It's not likely that anyone spent the decade since the 1998 release of Earth, Wind & Fire's Super Hits -- a ten-track budget anthology -- waiting on a sequel, but here it is anyway. It's of similar length and scope, and it features another round of EW&F gems -- including "That's the Way of the World," "After the Love Has Gone," and "Let's Groove" -- without coming close to draining the tank. Minor charting single "Star" and a 1999 house remix of "September" excepted, each song is a classic. As a budget release, the presentation is typically perfunctory -- kinda difficult to look at, really. More importantly, the sound quality isn't sacrificed. ~ Andy Kellman
