Rating: 2/5 -- The tonal shifts in Jojo Rabbit don't work because they're not seriously intended, the intention here being instead to remain consistently cute. Full Review

Rating: 5/5 -- Taika Waititi's film is tender, daring, and sharp -- precisely pitched so that it keeps its path steady and its ambitions in check.

4 stars out of 5 -- The two talented young leads are the main reason this all pays off in the end, but the film’s shrewdly cast supporting players -- notably Sam Rockwell’s shabby Captain Klenzendorf -- add substance and depth in the meantime.

Rating: 4/5 -- Jojo Rabbit is bold in its inversion of expectations and its reimagining of a familiar subject. There's nothing trivial about it. Full Review

Product Description:

It is the latter part of World War II, and all Jojo Betzler (Roman Griffin Davis) wants is to become a Nazi. He turns to his 10-year-old imagination and begins to befriend a wackier version of Nazi Germany's ruler, Adolf Hitler. One day, he finds out that his mother, Rosie (Scarlett Johansson), is housing a Jewish girl named Elsa (Thomasin McKenzie). Despite going directly against his young beliefs, he has no choice but to keep quiet for his and his family's safety. Soon, he and his imaginary friend begin to see the world differently. Written and directed by Taika Waititi.
