Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 4.5/5 --
Despite its flaws, Eddie the Eagle boasts a strong cast, good script and, like Eddie himself, a lot of heart. Watch it at least once. You won't regret it.

"Eddie the Eagle" is uncomplicated by nature and is a feel-good, warm-your-heart kind of film that will have you rooting for Eddie by the end of it.

It's fluff, but it's charming fluff that ultimately works well.

Matthew Margeson's synth-heavy score apes 1988 perfectly well, and the gravity-defying action gives this pic a slight thrill-ride edge over COOL RUNNINGS, which was based on another unlikely story from the 1988 Winter Games and was a clear inspiration here...

3 stars out of 5 -- [A] morale-boosting initiative, but briskly jolly, and given a dash of class by Jim Broadbent, Christopher Walken and a wonderfully unctuous Tim McInnerny.

Product Description:
Sports biopic of Michael "Eddie the Eagle" Edwards (Taron Egerton), whose participation in the 1988 Winter Olympics at Calgary marked the first time a Brit had ever competed in the ski-jumping event. Edwards trains as a ski jumper under the tutelage of a hard-drinking former champ (Hugh Jackman), and eventually finds fame as a lovable loser who's just trying his best. Directed by Dexter Fletcher.
