The film's sequel AIRPORT '75 (starring Heston) features a deadly crash which blinds a plane's pilot, and is followed by AIRPORT '77 (starring Lemmon, Stewart and Joseph Cotten), which tells the tale of a plane which crash-lands in the deadly Bermuda Triangle. The saga's final chapter, THE CONCORDE...AIRPORT '79, follows a plane that is targeted by a nefarious arms dealer (Wagner).
