Legend may turn out to be legendary, but not in the way the filmmakers intended. Full Review

Legend is a fairytale produced on a grand scale... At the same time, the basic premise is alarmingly thin, a compendium of any number of ancient fairytales. Full Review

It's all flash and no flesh. But in the hands of a visual director like Scott, sometimes that's enough. Full Review

Beautifully shot and designed, but in a cloyingly self-conscious manner, the film lacks narrative drive. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- The sets, makeup and photography in Ridley Scott's contribution to the fantasy cycle are awesome, but the dialogue and acting are more fitted to the pantomime stage. Full Review

The bad thing about Legend is that all the virtuosity of Scott's vision only gets halfway there. [Full Review in Spanish] Full Review

Rating: 0.5/4 -- I don't want to remember any more about Legend than to make sure I include it in my ''worst films of 1986'' list and never rent it when it comes out as a video cassette. Full Review

Product Description:

Director Ridley Scott's lush fantasy film stars the young Tom Cruise as Jack, a peasant who lives in an enchanted forest with his beloved Lili (Mia Sara). One day, while quietly gamboling in a glade, the pair is distracted by the appearance of trolls, minions of the evil Lord of Darkness (Tim Curry). The cloven-footed, cavern-dwelling monster, long banished to the earth's nether regions, has sent the creatures on a mission to seize the horn of a unicorn, thereby plunging the planet into a frigid darkness over which he alone will reign. Things go from bad to worse as Lili succumbs to the forces of darkness, and Jack must assemble a motley band of elves to free her from bondage and return sunlight to the earth's surface. Sumptous art direction and overwhelming special effects are once again a testament to Scott's powers of visual invention.
