James Arness reprises his role as Marshall Matt Dillon in this first of five movie sequels to the long-running television western Gunsmoke (1955-1975). Still living in Dodge Ctiy, the now-retired Dillon returns to his gunslinging ways when old enemy Will Mannon (Steve Forrest) is released from prison and swears revenge on the Marshal. Interspersed with flashbacks from the original series, RETURN TO DODGE also brings back old cast members Buck Taylor and Amanda Blake in their roles as Newly O'Brien and Miss Kitty.
