Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 3.5/5 --
The sheer quantity of pointed conversations may make the movie feel preachy, but the ideas raised are so rarely discussed that it's definitely worth a look.

Shadows on the Wall
While it's well-intentioned to a fault, and driven by deep convictions, the film also is diffuse, lethargically paced and short on thematic trenchancy, building powerful individual moments but seldom sustaining a compelling narrative thread.

Sam isn't particularly likable, but Cumming plays him with great empathy, finding a broken, complicated man beneath the abrasive surface.

Seventh Row
Rating: 3/5 --
After Louie tells a moving and thought-provoking self-contained story, while admirably claiming a space for the underrepresented - both living and dead. There are limits, however.

Village Voice
As an actor, [Zachary] Booth can't quite keep up with [Alan] Cumming, but Braeden is likable in ways that the cynical Sam is not, so it evens out in the end.

The Stranger (Seattle, WA)
Description by OLDIES.com:
Sam (Alan Cumming), an artist and activist from ACT UP, lived through the early years of HIV/AIDS a man scarred and still struggling with survivor's guilt. Cemented into an oppressive past, he is bewildered by a younger generation of carefree gay men with their uninhibited use of social media, sexting, and seeming political indifference. But when he meets the seductive young Braeden (Zachary Booth), an intergenerational relationship blossoms between them -- one capable of reawakening Sams artistic soul and reviving his wilted heart.
