It's high on charm and low on quality; the writing is pedestrian at best, the characters are paper-thin, and director Allan Moyle lets the music do the heavy lifting. Full Review

Product Description:

This rocking, slice-of-life comedy examines one so-strange-it's-normal day at a busy record store, from the manager's attempts to cope with his bizarre young staff to the loves, lusts and whinings of his slacker clerks. From the director of "Pump Up the Volume."

Plot Synopsis:

Empire Records is a small music store staffed by a diverse bunch of slackers. As the teens sort out the various crises in their lives, they soon discover their jobs are on the line.
