Description by OLDIES.com:
Thirty years have passed since Pete Townshend began work on "Lifehouse," but it's only now that the technology exists to make the experimental nature of the piece a reality. This recording of the concerts held at Sadler's Wells in London on February 25 and 26, 2000, is a celebration of the music of "Lifehouse" rather than the culmination of the project. To this day, Pete Townshend is continuing the exciting musical experiments he first pioneered in a small South London theatre back in 1971. Songs include "Fantasia Upon One Note," "Teenage Wasteland," "Baba O'Riley," and "Won't Get Fooled Again."
Product Description:
British rocker Pete Townshend, one of the leaders of the legendary British Invasion band The Who, has been working on his experimental piece, LIFEHOUSE, since the 1970's. Though it premiered in a small London theatre in 1971, the piece could not be fully realized until 2000 when the appropriate sound technology for its performance was finally invented. Recorded and filmed at London's Sadler's Well Theatre on February 25th and 26th, MUSIC FROM LIFEHOUSE is the production of 30 years of creativity.
