Ford, who previously directed A SINGLE MAN, is a mimic and an unapologetic aesthete, and his liberal adaptation of Austin Wright’s novel 'Tony And Susan' operates on the cusp of satire, playing with insincerity and indulgence as it conveys the workings of a reader’s imagination. -- Grade: B

Rating: 5/5 --
With so many superhero action-packed movies erupting from Hollywood in the last few years, this is certainly a welcomed change.

Ford is clearly a cinephile, and elements of other auteurs are all over ANIMALS....A fantastic beast of a film, intoxicating and strange. -- Grade: B+

Cinergética
4 stars out of 5 -- With near-Hitchcockian levels of suspense and suggestion, Ford charges every scene, setting and segue with implication.
Total Film
3.5 stars out of 4 -- This is a movie that, among other things, trusts the viewer to make sense of it....The individual stories are kept in the air beautifully by Ford...

Product Description:
An art-gallery owner (Amy Adams) reads a novel written by her ex-husband (Jake Gyllenhaal), and becomes greatly disturbed by the possibility that the story was inspired by their marriage and that her safety is in jeopardy. Armie Hammer, Isla Fisher, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Shannon, and Laura Linney co-star. Directed by Tom Ford, who also adapted the script from the novel TONY AND SUSAN by Austin Wright.
