Jim Hawkins has become a successful merchant trader with ships sailing from the New World. The years have also treated his old adversary, the opportunistic old pirate Long John Silver, well. He has become a rich, respectable widower. But, now the British Crown is confiscating all ships sailing out of Boston. When Hawkins fleet is ravaged, the HMS Sea Wolf and its captain, Joseph Savage, pursues the Eagle, Hawkins' last ship.
