Rating: 3.5/4 -- For all its ostensible unpleasantness, Multiple Maniacs is cheapo, indie, queer American cinema at its most adversarial and thrillingly vicious. Full Review

This restored 1970 film is rough around the edges even by Waters’ own lo-fi standards, but it’s still gleefully subversive, outrageously trashy and, possibly, shocking.
The Guardian

[Waters] tips his hat to Tod Browning's FREAKS and to the Manson Family, while simultaneously exploring the blasphemous outer limits of his Catholicism.

Rating: 2.5/4 -- This being a film by John Waters no stunt is too outrageous and no idea is too grotesque, and whether you'll personally leave shocked or delighted is as always a case of your-milage-may-vary. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- Shot for $5,000, this '70s black-and-white curio was the "trainer wheels" for Waters' shockfest Pink Flamingos. Full Review

Rating: A+ -- "Multiple Maniacs" wallows in perversion for perversion's sake because that's what it's there for. You can fight the ideas, but you can't fight the feelings that John Waters puts out there because his respect for filth runs so deep. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/4 -- Waters has a hard time figuring out where to point the camera in any given shot or how to keep his actors in focus, but he never loses sight, for even a moment, of his ultimate goal, which is to shock the world and crack himself up at the same time. Full Review

Product Description:

In this cult classic par excellence, Waters' first "talkie," Divine and her boyfriend run a traveling freak show called "The Cavalcade of Perversion" - and that it is. Infamous for its scene with the violent and unpredictable "Lobstora."
