It is always easy for me to write about James Cagney because he is my all time favorite actor! Cagney was so popular at this time playing gangster roles that Warner Brothers thought a change of pace was necessary! This is where G Men comes in and the film turned out to be a huge hit! In fact, in movie theatres all over the United States, the marquee would have a double feature of Public Enemy /G Men back to back! This electrifying film has Cagney on the right side of law and folks were amazed how convincing Jimmy could play a good guy for once! For all you Cagney's fans out there, G Men is the film that stands among the best in crime films!
