Description by OLDIES.com:

Marie de Flor (Jeanette MacDonald), a glamorous Canadian prima donna, is renowned for her beauty, exquisite voice and fierce temperament. When news arrives that her brother Jack (Jimmy Stewart in one of his earliest screen roles) has been wounded in a prison escape, Marie realizes she must go to him despite the danger. Lured into the wilderness, she encounters Sgt. Bruce (Nelson Eddy), who is hunting the fugitive. Sgt. Bruce is soon hot on Marie's trail as well!

Product Description:

Based on the 1920s operetta of the same name, ROSE-MARIE is a classic musical from the golden age of the studios. Set in the rugged Canadian wilderness, the film features such hits as "The Mounties," "Rose Marie," and "Indian Love Call." While a subsequent remake offers stunning color photography, the chemistry of stars Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy is irreplaceable. MacDonald plays Rose Marie de Flor, an opera singer whose beloved brother, John (James Stewart), breaks free from prison, killing a Canadian Mountie in order to escape. In desperate straits, John sends Indian buddy Boniface to bring Rose Marie to him. Meanwhile, Canadian Mountie Sergeant Bruce (Nelson Eddy) is dispatched to carry John Flower to justice and meets Rose Marie in a mountain saloon, where love blossoms. Unaware of Bruce's mission, Rose Marie's love for the sergeant is simultaneously endangering her own brother. Stewart is great in the supporting role but, like the fine plot, is overshadowed by the excellent singing of the two lovers.
