The exciting B-Western is filled with plenty of action (chases, fights and shoot-outs) and fortunately only a few songs from the singing cowboy.

Description by OLDIES.com:
Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders return to hit the frontier trail in this exciting Roy Rogers vehicle, the first Rogers movie produced and directed by Joseph Kane. Roy stars as a veteran of the Spanish American War who joins the Texas Patrol with several of his Rough Rider buddies. The group immediately clashes with the villainous Arizona (William Pawley), whose gang robs stagecoaches and the local prospectors of their hard-earned gold. With the help of his Rough Riders and especially his grizzled sidekick Rusty (Raymond Hatton), Roy attempts to rid the range of the outlaw band. Former silent star Dorothy Sebastian makes a comeback in this picture. The other leading lady is Rogers regular Mary Hart (who is serenaded by Roy with "Here on the Range With You" and gives him a handshake instead of a kiss at the film's end).
Product Description:
Singing less than usual, Roy Rogers stars in this 1930s B-western as a cowboy who joins the Border Patrol, only to have his buddy Tommy get killed at a local saloon. Determined to get revenge at any cost, Roy and Rusty cross the border in search of Arizona Jack, the man responsible for Tommy's death.

The Rough Riders Round-Up, the story of Roy Rogers getting his troop of former Rough Riders together to save the day, is perhaps the best film of his from his few few years as a star. Besides a good, exciting plot-line, this film also benefits from the presence of Raymond Hatton, one of the best character actors and sidekicks in the B-Western genre (no offense to Gabby, Smiley or the Fuzzy's). The chemistry between Roy and Raymond is great. It is a shame they only made four films together (again, I love Gabby Hayes and Smiley Burnett and Andy Devine - no offense).
