Description by OLDIES.com:
Swift dialogue, dark, shadowy sets and brilliant plot twists make Too Late For Tears a hard-boiled winner. Director Byron Haskin, whose career dates back to the silent era, was also responsible for such classics as Arsenic And Old Lace, War Of The Worlds, Passage To Marseilles and They Drive By Night. The phenomenal performances by Scott and Duryea fixed their places in the film noir canon.

This is film noir as it should be: dark, sinister, evil, well acted, and with a few twists and turns to keep you guessing. Lizabeth Scott plays a greedy and manipulative woman who'll stop at nothing to get what she wants - in this case $60,000 in cash. Dan Duryea is his usual nasty type. The only character who seems miscast in Don Defore but wait, therte may be a reson!
Lizabeth Scott is very good as a greedy, scheming woman who will stop at nothing to get rich. Dan Duryea plays his usual tough guy, but this time with more nuance.
