[T]he most radical and ostensibly funny thing about Erasmus and Paul is that they get to be openly gay and cartoonishly out-of-touch.

Rating: 1/5 -- Maybe it's all a meta joke? Or an ironic bad-taste prank? Let's hope so. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/5 -- Ideal Home is a pretty average comedy with some laughs thanks to the lead performances, but its messy script, Fleming's self-conscious direction and predictable storytelling bring it down a notch. Full Review

This is a slight film, but it is a low-key delight. Full Review

May not be groundbreaking queer cinema but it's a meaningful and genuinely hilarious movie-going experience that caters to a wide audience despite its colourful mentality. Full Review

Rating: 4/5 -- Families come in an endless assortment. But it's a safe bet that few of them are as ill-assorted at first as flamboyant TV chef Erasmus, his panic attack-prone partner, Paul, and the pugnacious 10-year-old grandson Erasmus didn't know he had. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- Andrew Fleming wrote and directed, like a man who has heard of the gay freedom revolution but is still stuck mentally in the age of queenery and innuendo garnished with lip-service liberalism. Full Review

Product Description:

Eccentric, combative gay couple Paul (Paul Rudd) and Erasmus (Steve Coogan) balk when a boy named Bill arrives at their home, claiming to be Erasmus's grandson. With his father (Jake McDorman) in jail, responsibility for Bill falls on the two men, who have no interest in changing their booze-soaked, bohemian lifestyle -- until they begin to grow protective of their young ward and warm to the idea of forming a nontraditional family. Written and directed by Andrew Fleming. Kate Walsh and Alison Pill co-star.
