Entertainment Reviews:
Like a bonkers mashup of THE LAST DRAGON, SCARFACE, and a particularly gonzo episode of 'Empire,' SUPERFLY is chock-full of all the sex and ultraviolence you’d imagine finding on the streets of Atlanta with a bunch of cocaine dealers, exotic dancers and dirty cops living their most dangerous, action-packed lives.
USA Today
The super heroic version of this tale mythologizes Youngblood Priest in a new era of chaos in which threats to the black community are more amorphous and multi-faceted than they used to be.

The new Superfly seems...like an embarrassing throwback.

The early scenes are so full of bling and macho posturing that you half suspect the film must be intended as a spoof.

SUPERFLY turns out to not be very good. Despite boasting a director whose name screams, "TOO MUCH STYLE," the film looks generic as can be.

The entire denouement has a nice satirical sting, pushed along by the rapper and songwriter Big Boi’s droll turn as an incumbent mayor hungry for re-election. He becomes a potent weapon in Priest’s score settling.

The whole thing plays like a fancy dress parody of a crime movie, except nobody seems to be having much fun.
