It's refreshing to see Snipes in a romantic role, and Lathan -- directed here, as she was in Love and Basketball, by Gina Prince-Blythewood -- is a wonder to behold.

Product Description:
The legendary Patty Duke stars as a distraught mother investigating foul play in emotional crime drama THE DISAPPEARING ACT (aka WHEN HE DIDN'T COME HOME). When Timothy Dolan meets beautiful Carolyn, they quickly fall in love and plan on marrying, despite the suspicions of Timothy's mother Faye (Duke). But soon after, Timothy disappears, and Carolyn professes to have no knowledge of where or why. Her protestations of innocence have fooled the police, but Faye has serious doubts, and begins her own investigation of Carolyn with the hopes of discovering what has happened to her son. THE DISAPPEARING ACT is a compelling and disturbing mystery that is based on true events.
