Entertainment Reviews:
Essentially, we're watching dead people refuse to lie down, yet the acting isn't terrible, and Scott Winig's photography is satisfyingly bleak and grimy.

This is the story, understand, of a group of people taking shelter in a basement following a nuclear holocaust. It's pretty clear right from the start that all or most of them will die. Good times.

Strongly acted by Stuhr, Czop and a capable supporting cast, AFTERMATH succeeds, as films like this rarely do, on both the plot level and in its ability to be sensitive to the issues involved.

Awash in exposition-heavy dialogue, punctuated by the occasional Wizard Of Oz reference, the film provides no meaningful background on its characters, and even less drama.

Product Description:
Following an extended stay in Chicago, Poland native Franek (Ireneusz Czop) returns to the rural village where he was raised, and discovers that the ghosts of World War II still linger strong while reconnecting with his estranged brother Jozek (Maciej Stuhr), who has somehow incurred the wrath of the tight-knit community. Upon uncovering a secret that causes them to question everything they ever knew about their family and their homeland, Franek and Jozek are drawn to investigate a malevolent mystery that will forever alter their perceptions of the past.
