Rating: 3/5 -- The Hunt is a familiar kill-or-be-killed thriller that is strangely top-heavy in the killing department. Normally, that'd be a mark against it. But it's precisely when the film gets rid of everyone except Gilpin that it starts cooking. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/4 -- It's a solid throwaway B-movie that probably thinks it has more to say than it actually does but is entertaining nonetheless. Full Review

The question of what games the film is playing-shifting realities and relegating performances inside performances-is much more interesting than anything the humans are up to. Full Review

3 stars out of 5 -- It’s simply a better-than-decent B-movie, the kind that takes pride in its sick kills and throws a lot of punches...

Rating: 6.5/10 -- I walked away [thinking] that was enjoyable, but maybe it didn't have as sharp of teeth as it could have. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- The film's snarky humour is just a ruse to conjure the illusion of controversy. You could say the film offers a cheeky backhander to self-righteousness [but] it would strain any brain to see it as anything but a mischievous piece of splatter cinema. Full Review

Product Description:

Director Craig Zobel's satirical horror-thriller is based on Richard Connell's 1924 short story "The Most Dangerous Game." The film stars Betty Gilpin, Emma Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Ike Barinholtz, and Hilary Swank. Twelve strangers wake up to find themselves in a remote and deserted clearing, at the mercy of a group of globalist elites who have gathered to hunt them down for sport. One woman (Gilpin) fights ferociously for her life, eventually turning the tables on the hunters.
