Entertainment Reviews:
The movie is a psalm to those who, far from pursuing the path of the Rolling Stones, stayed trapped under a rock.
New Yorker
Rating: 1.5/4 --
This film could have been -- should have been, even -- something special. But it's not.

There's a nice, pop-in-and-see rhythm to the storytelling. Gandolfini's Pat descends into a rich sadness. There's wry humour to be had with Douglas and his idealizing buddies. Loneliness and longing lounge around together.

3 stars out of 4 -- Chase shows a natural affinity for actors, who are uniformly excellent.
Rolling Stone
Rating: 3.5/5 --
There are plenty of laughs along with the melodrama as the band and its members struggle through young adulthood.

We know what's coming, it isn't terribly original, but it's hard not to like it. You won't discover a new sound that you've never heard before, but you'll sit back and sing along.

[The movie] offers an extremely knowledgeable and affectionate yet barbed survey of rock’s explosive evolution.

Product Description:
SOPRANOS mastermind David Chase's autobiopgraphically-tinged drama NOT FADE AWAY stars John Magaro as Douglas, a music-obsessed New Jersey high-school senior who quickly abandons his thoughts of joining the military when he hears the British Invasion, especially the raw blues swagger of the young Rolling Stones. He begins drumming in local bands with his buddies and, over the course of summer and winter breaks home from college, fights with his gruff dad (James Gandolfini), tries to win the heart of a girl he's been crushing on since forever, and keeps his dreams of being a rock star alive. As the sixties unfold, Douglas' band finally catches the break they've been looking for, but internal fighting threatens to sink the group.
