Entertainment Reviews:
3 stars out of 5 -- [T]he action elements are numerous and proficiently executed....There's a light-hearted snappiness to the script, too...
Empire
As always, Cruise is right in the thick of the stunt action, throwing himself round all manner of exploding buildings and crashing vehicles.

Rating: 1/5 --
Every predictable layer found within the derivative bandages of The Mummy reveals the sarcophagi of a dull and crusty film. The performances are stale other than Tom Cruise who is excited about @#$! no one else can bother with.

God Hates Geeks
Rating: 1/5 --
The Mummy is just dull, lifeless - devoid of human spark. There are no genuine conversations; there are no relationships that even halfway try to convince.

Isolated Nation
Absolute garbage from beginning to end.

Movies and Shakers
The Mummy is a big budget endeavor meant to bring Universal into the comic book era. All those multi-genre elements exist, but the joy of going to the movies, the wonder of being touched by human elements does not.

Product Description:
Soldier of fortune Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) accidentally discovers the tomb of a female pharaoh of ancient Egypt named Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) during a firefight in the Middle East. But when he and a British Egyptologist (Annabelle Wallis) try to excavate the findings, the resurrected Ahmanet emerges from her sarcophagus with a plot to enslave humanity. Russell Crowe, Jake Johnson, and Courtney B. Vance co-star in this action-horror hybrid from director Alex Kurtzman, which is the first entry in a shared cinematic universe based on the iconic Universal monsters.
