Description by

U.S. Marshal Nevada Jack McKenzie is summoned to the troubled town of Rawbone, a ranchers' outpost plagued by lawlessness and rampant murder. The two most recent victims, rancher Hilton and his close friend Dr. Applegate, were both successful gold prospectors. Unfortunately, their activities caught the attention of J.D. Edwards, the powerful owner of the Land and Water Company. Edwards plans to buy up all the ranch land in the area, and he's determined to keep the presence of gold a secret. Nevada quickly realizes just how much of the town is under the control of Edwards and his cronies. He'll have to act fast to dismantle the criminal operation before it swallows up Rawbone completely.

Making his way to Monogram following tenures with MGM and Universal, Johnny Mack Brown arrived just in time to pick up where the Rough Riders had left off. The tragic death of Buck Jones proved the end of that particular series, but Rough Rider and former Mesquiteer Raymond Hatton would end up joining Brown's Marshal Nevada Jack McKenzie for a number of his initial Monogram releases, reprising his Rough Rider role as Sandy Hopkins.
