Ral Donner had a husky, pouty voice that often got him confused with Elvis, but he was a talented singer in his own right. He had his two biggest hits with "You Don't Know What You've Got (Until You Lose It)" and "Girl of My Best Friend", both of which hit the Top 20 ("You Don't Know..." even went Top 10). Donner died prematurely in 1984 but will be best remembered for his Gone records of the early '60s - the material included in this collection.
