Description by OLDIES.com:
Harry "Sweets" Edison was one of the greatest trumpeters of all time. Very popular during the big band era, Edison was a renowned soloist who also led his own orchestra and was an in-demand session player through the 1960's (most notably for Frank Sinatra). This collection of 'sweet' music is a great introduction to one of the jazz world's sweetest trumpet players.

For any and all Harry Edison fans, this CD is wonderful. Harry has so often played with a mute. He was one of the foremost with a mute ever heard, yet his open horn playing is featured here on a few numbers. The first track, What Is There To Say, is divine. Harry's sense of dynamic and phrasing here is beyond description. Another open horn number is But Beautiful. This number also shines dynamically. My favorite muted number on this album is Call Me Irresponsible. Get this CD.
