Rating: 3/5 -- Directed with a love for criminal procedural detail by James Marsh, the film has its humourous moments, but this...is essentially a hard drama about hard men who remain hard no matter how old they are. Full Review

Rating: C+ -- There's laughs to be had watching these quasi-incompetent characters but they can't do enough to elevate the material into something more memorable. Full Review

It's kind of a mishmash of tones... [But] these guys could just sit around and have tea and talk and it would be enormously watchable. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- A bungled mess, disappointing given the cinematic nature of the story and the fine cast. Full Review

Rating: 2/4 -- King of Thieves is a disappointing mess that lacks both suspense and a clear identity. Not even the occasional joy of seeing these fine actors riff with one another can save it. Full Review

Rating: 3/4 -- It's a marvel to watch Caine, Courtenay, Broadbent and Gambon go at each other with an aplomb that dazzles. Full Review

The script (by Joe Penhall, based on a magazine article by Mark Seal) runs in fits and starts, but the camerawork from Danny Cohen keeps the mood lively during any lulls. Full Review
