Rating: 2/4 -- An uneven, often unpleasant satire that comes across as a pale imitation of the Coens' distinctive style. Full Review

Rating: 1.5/5 -- "Suburbicon," a film that, despite checking a lot of the right boxes, simply isn't very good. Full Review

Rating: 5.5/10 -- Suburbicon could've been a great, funny, socially conscious film. Regrettably, it's just not that deep. It's a pretty random film that probably lives up to the expectations of the Cohen brothers. Full Review

'Suburbicon' is a missed opportunity because it wants to cover too many different things and doesn't know how to do it in a natural way. [Full Review in Spanish] Full Review

Rating: 2.5/5 -- The different tones for the almost comedic antics at the Lodges, and the threatening racism outside their neighbours the Mayers, don't work together (with the Mayers reduced to background). Thank goodness for Oscar Isaac's wittily sceptical insurance man. Full Review

Rating: 4/5 -- Suburbicon isn't always the most finely tuned of comedies... but the twists are brilliant, the score alternately suspenseful and moving and the message poignant. Full Review

Rating: C- -- Comedy is not effectively mixed with a serious thriller, ruining many potential tense moments; leaving the audience confused as to what emotion they should be feeling. Full Review

Product Description:

This comedy-drama from director George Clooney features two parallel stories that seek to expose the dark underbelly of life in 1950s suburban America. In one tale, white businessman Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) tries to pull off an insurance scam with the help of his wife's identical twin sister (Julianne Moore). Meanwhile, a black family (Karimah Westbrook, Leith M. Burke, and Tony Espinosa) who recently moved in next door to the Lodges are forced to confront the virulent racism of their community. Oscar Isaac and Noah Jupe co-star. Written by Clooney, Grant Heslov, and Joel and Ethan Coen.
