Possibly, the greatest accomplishment of the film is the revelation of an incredible talent in the young Craig Roberts. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/4 -- That rare teen comedy where the kids aren't gorgeous, the hero isn't heroic and the object of desire has a lot of reasons why she isn't necessarily desirable.

3.5 stars out of 4 -- It's a self-confident work for the first-time director, Richard Ayoade....Craig Roberts and Yasmin Paige are enormously likable in their roles...

3.5 stars out of 5 -- Richard Ayoade's SUBMARINE is an auspicious, controlled and altogether droll debut film that resembles Wes Anderson's RUSHMORE without being derived from it.

Rating: 5/5 -- While emotionally powerful and incredibly affecting, Submarine doesn't lack for laughs, even, if at times, you'll not be ready for them. Full Review

Product Description:

Writer/director Richard Ayoade adapts author Joe Dunthorne's acerbic coming-of-age novel to the big screen with this comedy centered on the efforts of precocious Welsh 15-year-old Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts) to lose his virginity before his next birthday, and to prevent his mother (Sally Hawkins) from having an affair with a smooth-talking spiritual guru (Paddy Considine) after his morose father (Noah Taylor) loses the will to fight for his marriage.
