Description by OLDIES.com:

Undercover G-Man Tex Collins is investigating the gang of train robbers who made off with a million dollars worth of pure gold. Aided by information provided a by a patriotic and observant boy scout troop, Tex follows a trail of clues to Dorman, owner of a mining operation. When a young scout overhears Dorman's plan to transport the stolen gold, he shoots the boy and leaves him for dead. The gunmen race for the Mexican border with the stolen gold, hotly pursued by an avenging Tex and his posse.

Tex Ritter's illustrious career as a singing cowboy actor earned him legendary status as a western screen star in the '20s and '30s and later as a popular recording artist best remembered for the iconic title theme to High Noon. Tex's strong supporting cast in this Grand National production include silent comedy star Snub Pollard, Marjorie Reynolds, child actor Tommy Bupp and the inimitable Charles King.

Tex has a silver beaver badge and everything...Gosh! Movie Lover: from The Bijou Hollywood USA -- December, 27, 2010

Easily one of Tex Ritter's favorite movies, Alpha's version of Tex Rides With the Boy Scouts is a winner. Featuring great cover art, it also includes the dedication prologue ("to all those boy scouts..we dedicate this picture to you!") which ex-boy scouts can use if they need to brush up on thier scout oath. (Most VHS versions deleted this for some reason.)
Marjorie Reynolds, about five years before her role in the Christmas classic "Holiday Inn" shows up and Snub Pollard's shenanigans at the square dance are alone worth the price of admisson.
PS- Contrary to movie legend, that fellow at the square dance is NOT really Wild Bill Hickock, but merely Rodney Orowitz, a paint salesman from Canoga Park who wandered in during the filming. Despite his resemblance to Hickock, he is most fondly recalled for his vocal imitations of Guy Kibee, which he used to do at Hollywood parties.
