Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 3/4 --
Full Grown Men is an artistically integrated film that introduces a refreshing new talent to the independent scene, one who combines the visual palette of filmmaker Harmony Korine with an all-important sense of narrative.

Peter Pan syndrome is a tremendously interesting psychological condition, but Men would rather make tiresome action figure jokes and spotlight whining characters. Blah.

Full Grown Men might work better if the audience was given a reason to feel even a small sliver of sympathy for Alby

Friedlander offers a nicely subtle performance, but the other actors -- including Alan Cumming, Deborah Harry and Amy Sedaris -- appear to have turned up as a favor to the director. Don't feel obliged to follow their lead.

Time Out
Product Description:
When action-figure collecting Alby (Matt McGrath) gets in a fight with his wife over his chronic immaturity, he flees into the past by taking a road trip with a childhood buddy (Judah Friedlander). But what happens when the good old days aren't how he remembered them' Plenty of comic disasters, it turns out, as well as some scene-stealing appearances by Alan Cumming, Amy Sedaris, and Deborah Harry.
Product Description:
Alby Cutrera (Matt McGrath) is a pathologically nostalgic guy who, at 35 years of age with a wife and young son, really just wishes he could play with his action figures all day on a Cherry Slurpee high. Kicked out of the house with the unequivocal instruction: "Don't come back 'til you grow up!", Alby decides to look up his old best friend from childhood, Elias Guber (Judah Friedlander), and go to Diggityland – their favorite childhood theme park. Along the way the two friends meet a series of similarly damaged romantics: an AWOL ex-theme park employee turned commando (Alan Cummings); a horny bartender who attends "Clownin' School" (Amy Sedaris); and a delusional mermaid who lives in an Airstream trailer (Deborah Harry). Ultimately it's one of Elias's students who teaches Alby the value of seeing beyond himself and taking responsibility for his actions.
