The Yang Ban Xi was the name given to a ballet/dance/musical group who produced a series of propaganda-spouting productions during the Cultural Revolution in China. Although times have changed and the Westernization of China has seen the power of the Yang Ban Xi diminish, the organization continues to perform. THE EIGHT MODEL WORKS takes a look at the history of this unique group of artists, from their roots in the 1960s up to their modern-day performances.
