Okay thriller. Nothing more.

This could be Guttenberg's finest hour

Rating: 3.5/5 --
Surprisingly solid homage to Hitchcock, film noir, and moody old mysteries. Too bad about the Guttenberg, though.

The profound moral of The Bedroom Window is: Don't have an affair with your boss' wife, because she might witness a crime from a place where she isn't supposed to be. You could get fired that way.

You know what? It's not a bad little noir, actually.

Product Description:
When screams draw Sylvia (Isabelle Huppert) to the bedroom window of her boyfriend's apartment, she's shocked to see a red-haired man attacking a woman. Unable to unlatch the window, she calls for her boyfriend, Terry Lambert (Steve Guttenberg), but by the time Terry joins her, the attacker has fled. Although Sylvia and Terry want to do the right thing and report the crime, Sylvia's marriage to Terry's boss--a prominent figure in the community--makes it impossible for her to admit to her whereabouts without confessing to her extramarital dalliance. Chivalrous Terry pretends to be the witness, conveying the details that Sylvia has relayed to him. Unfortunately, the flaws in his testimony make him the chief suspect in both the attack and a series of murders. With nowhere else to turn, he seeks the help of Denise (Elizabeth McGovern), the woman who was attacked outside his bedroom window. Together the two set out to find the real killer and clear Terry's name. Curtis Hanson (L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE) directs this tense thriller, which offers some interesting twists and turns.
