Rating: 6/10 --
It is good that the film has charm, for after a certain point it doesn't necessarily have anything else.

Antagony & Ecstasy
Even with its super cast, the slow-moving 'Mystery Men' falters in its attempt to spoof comic book heroes.

...Affectionate and astute....[The film] boasts genius, cameo-bursting casting and frequently hilarious writing...

Usher's amiable spoof of superhero movies takes a brave stab at rewriting the mythology from the inside out, with lots of witty, mildly subversive stuff.

Product Description:
When Captain Amazing, chief superhero of Champion City, is kidnapped by insane supervillain Casanova Frankenstein, who will save the city and ensure that justice is served' Enter the Mystery Men: Mr. Furious, The Bowler, The Blue Raja, The Shoveler, The Spleen, The Sphinx, and the Invisible Boy- a group of misfits in possession of superpowers...sort of. Watch the mayhem ensue, as this wacky team goes up against Frankenstein and his mad henchmen. This adaptation of the popular Dark Horse comic strikes a weird comic tone which is heightened by great production design and fun performances by all involved. This is the first feature from director Usher, who previously directed commercials ("Got Milk'").
