Description by OLDIES.com:
Rising from the streets of the New York City's Lower East Side, immigrant Papa Strauss becomes wealthy in the garment business. His greedy unscrupulous sons force their father out of the business and into poverty. Papa is abandoned by his own family. When his daughter Lena returns from abroad and discovers what her brothers have done, she resolves to turn the tables on her ingrate family.
Beginning in 1932, Invincible Pictures, producer of Forgotten, created some commendable "B" films. They distinguished themselves by producing timely social dramas. Invincible used their money wisely by utilizing the standing sets at Universal Pictures and popular up-and-coming actors. More often than not, they chose Richard Thorpe to direct. A few years later he would become one of MGM's leading directors and was responsible for such noteworthy films as Jailhouse Rock (1957). By 1935 many "B" film companies found themselves in debt to their film labs. Invincible was no exception and owed money to Herbert Yates' Consolidated. Finding themselves not so invincible, Yates called in his debts to a number of producers and rolled them into one and created his Republic Pictures. Thus Invincible's run which begun in 1932 ended in 1936.
