Rating: 4/5 -- Excellent adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic story. Watch for the creative use of color in the otherwise B&W production.

Product Description:

This chilly adaptation of Oscar Wilde's novel stars Hurd Hatfield as Dorian Gray, a handsome young Victorian gentleman who remains eternally young while a portrait of him grows old and bears the ugly scars of his vile undertakings. The otherwise black-and-white horror film is notable for its lavish Technicolor finale--perhaps helping it score its Academy Award for cinematography. Angela Lansbury gained an Oscar nod for her role as an innocent singer whom Dorian corrupts.
