The film does everything right on a technical and structural angle...it chooses realism over sensation. Full Review

With the soulful Gleeson and a sweetly menacing Fassbender at its center, the movie never loses its acerbic edge or its oversize heart. -- Grade: A-

Rating: B -- Michael Fassbender spends the majority of Lenny Abrahamson's irreverent comedy "Frank" buried underneath a giant plastic head, but the honesty of his performance is on full display. Full Review

[T]he film's examination of what matters in music -- fame, money, sanity' -- works as a kind of BEHIND THE MUSIC peek at a band's struggle for identity and devotees.

Product Description:

A hopeful musician named Jon (Domhnall Gleeson) joins an eccentric pop band led by an eccentric creative mastermind named Frank (Michael Fassbender), who conceals his true identity beneath a giant paper mache head. Frank supposedly adheres rigorously to the ethos of making music purely for the joy of doing it, but as Jon's influence in the band grows, Frank proves to be capable of a less-enlightened view.
