Kudos to Witherspoon and Ruffalo for generating enough screen chemistry to insure a teary-eyed finale that'll make you forget the fact that you're watching a shameless rip-off.

One of the best times I've had at the movies in a while. It's not perfect. It's not very deep. But it's a whole lot of fun and even a little moving.

Um filminho simpático protagonizado por dois atores carismáticos. E, ainda assim, não é um bom sinal que eu esteja utilizando a palavra 'filminho' para descrevê-lo.
Cinema em Cena
It's corny, it's somewhat predictable, but it's also very sweet, it's funny.
Ebert & Roeper
See two charming characters make beautiful music together.

While the picture adheres to romantic-comedy formula, it's not entirely formulaic, and the actors, who appear to be having fun, give it a bright and undeniable appeal.

Description by OLDIES.com:
Tobey is a headstrong peddler who sells balloons on the streets of Paris. A traveling dog circus usurps his corner and a power struggle ensues between Tobey and the circus's beautiful ballet star, Mimi. Intent on ruining the circus's chances at success, Tobey sabotages their performances. But after a tragedy befalls Mimi, Tobey has a dramatic change of heart and views Mimi in a completely new way.
The elegant Anita Louise began her acting career at the age of six on Broadway. By twelve she'd appeared in several feature films, including The Sixth Commandment (1924) and A Woman of Affairs (1928). Among Louise's best-known roles are Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935) and Nell McLaughlin in the 1950s TV series My Friend Flicka. Roy William Neill is often credited with originating the shadowy, ominous mise-en-scene that became film noir. After turning out dozens of obscure films during the 1920s and 1930s, he moved to Universal where he directed eleven entries in the Basil Rathbone / Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes series.
BONUS: Includes Snug in the Jug (1933) with Clark and McCullough.
